Heavy duty cast bronze stuffing box with precision machined threads. Engineered to meet the rigorous demands of both commercial and recreational mariners who prefer a traditional shaft sealing system. Reinforced mounting flange can be cut to size to fit a variety of applications including Downeast style lobster boats with narrow keels.

Our heavy duty traditional bronze stuffing boxes offer exceptional quality, safety, performance, and value. They are machined from full body cast bronze; in other words, we don’t create void spaces and false shoulders in our stuffing boxes to save on material or construction costs.

Stuffing Box Wrenches:
Our SB-Series Stuffing Boxes are compatible with our exclusive RE Thomas Marine Hardware stuffing box wrenches. One wrench fits the packing nut, while the other wrench adjusts the locking nut.
Packing Material:
We recommend three rows of Duramax Ultra-X packing be used when packing our traditional bronze stuffing boxes and self-aligning shaft seals. Refer to our specifications tab below for correct packing size. Duramax Ultra-X is available at most marine stores or you can buy it directly from R.E. Thomas Marine Hardware.
